Big Bertha Storage is a brand new storage facility, fully equipped with modern and updated storage units. At a great price you’ll be able to safely store away household items, furniture, clothes, seasonal items, and much more. Each unit is 100% secure and enclosed inside of our facility, which is under video surveillance 24/7.
Our temperature controlled units also ensure the protection of your items since they’re kept in stable temperatures year-round. These units allow you to store your most valuable belongings without fear of mold, mildew, rust, corrosion, water damage, or other potential damage from pests or unpredictable temperatures. For easy loading and unloading use our cargo elevator, drive-in loading area, dollies, and carts.

Big Bertha Storage is conveniently located in downtown Charleston, SC right across from I-26. Our proximity to I-26 gives us easy access to college students attending the College of Charleston and the Medical University of South Carolina. We’re in the same spot as the legendary skate rink, Skateland and above the contemporary art facility, Redux. If you’re a resident in the North Central neighborhood, we’re your most reliable option.
Driving Directions
From downtown Charleston, SC:
- Head north on Meeting St toward Court House Square
- Turn left onto Line St
- Turn right onto King St
- Big Bertha Storage will be on the right
From North Charleston, SC:
- Get on I-26 E from Mall Dr and E Montague Ave/State Rd S-10-62
- Head southwest toward Mall Dr
- Turn left at the 1st cross street onto Mall Dr
- Continue straight to stay on Mall Dr
- Turn right onto E Montague Ave/State Rd S-10-62
- Turn right onto the ramp to Charleston
- Follow I-26 E to Mt Pleasant St in Charleston. Take exit 219B from I-26 E
- Merge onto I-26 E
- Take exit 219B toward Morrison Dr/E Bay St
- Drive to King St
- Turn left onto Mt Pleasant St (signs for E Bay St/U.S. Rte 52/U.S. Rte 78)
- Turn right onto King St
- Big Bertha Storage will be on the left
From Mt Pleasant, SC:
- Head southwest on US-17 S/N Hwy 17 toward Parking Lot
- Use the right lane to take the Meeting St ramp to Visitor Center/N Charleston/Columbia/I-26 W
- Turn right onto Meeting St
- Turn left onto Romney St
- Turn left onto King St
- Big Bertha Storage will be on the left
From James Island, SC:
- Get on SC-30 E
- Head west on Old Summer House Rd toward Harbor View Rd
- Turn right onto Harbor View Rd
- Take the Downtown/SC-30 E ramp
- Merge onto SC-30 E
- Take Courtenay Dr to Cannon St
- Keep left to continue on James Island Expy
- Merge onto Calhoun St
- Turn left onto Courtenay Dr
- Take Septima Clark Pkwy and I-26 W to Romney St. Take exit 220A from I-26 W
- Use the left lane to turn right onto Cannon St
- Use the left 3 lanes to turn slightly left onto Septima Clark Pkwy
- Continue onto I-26 W/Septima Clark Pkwy
- Take exit 220A for Romney St
- Continue on Romney St. Drive to King St
- Turn left onto Romney St
- Turn left onto King St
